This valuable prescription for calmness was shared by Elen, the dear friend I mentioned yesterday. I felt it so important, that although I'm attempting to stick to my Tuesday and Friday blogging schedule, I wanted to pass it on right away because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Oprah show, you too, can find inner peace.
Dr. Oz proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."
So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Tequila, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.
Pass this on if you know anyone you think might be in need of inner peace.

Thanks for that suggestion! I think I have a few things I should go finish off this morning--definitely some chocolate and I think there's some Baileys in the fridge. Yep, I'm betting the combination will help my production today.
Alexis
Alexis -- chocolate always works for me. And you know, they make Baileys in chocolate. Which is a super two-fer. :)
ROFL! Oh, yes, I see now I need to finish some things, too.
Eileen, I just remembered some M&Ms hidden away in the armoire where I keep the Wii TV. (Great Wii Fit reward, lol) Since they're left over from Halloween, I'd better finish them.
Dangit, I already finished all the Doritos and chocolate around here. Where's my calm!?!?!
And I've got those Hershey's Kisses left from Christmas . . .
Phyllis, I'm not Dr. Oz, but it seems to me the answer is clear -- start more. And keep repeating dosage until you find your calm.
Oh my goodness! When I started your blog, I was thinking. . . oh, no!!! And by the end, I was finishing off the biggest laugh I've had in days.
I feel so much calmer now!!!! Thank you, JoAnn!!
Tessa, glad to help you find your calm!
If I finished everything I have started, I would live to be 100. So many quilt projects, scrapbook projects, genealogy researches started, etc. I have started cleaning out two closets since the first of the year, and neither are finished.Oh, well there is the box of poptarts, that I can do.
Carolyn,
In our ongoing resolution to declutter the attic, I finally threw out an entire suitcase filled with unfinished cross-stitch and needlework projects that have been up there for years. Also, all the big rings with all the colors of DMC floss. Well, almost all. I did save a few skeins of various colors for embroidering on scrapbook pages and cards.
But you know, Poptarts are a good start. I say go for it!
LOL! Loved it. Thanks for the laugh!
Ow, ow, laughing too hard! I have some brownie bites and three books to finish. With your and Oz's permission, I will consume them guilt-free!
And more LOL on the M&Ms behind the Wii Fit!
Colleen, Thanks. Glad I could give you a laugh.
Jessa, enjoy those brownie bits and books. (I'm guessing they're to READ, not WRITE?)
Yeah. Hiding M&Ms behind the wii is pitiful. Especially since sweetie likes them better than I do. But he doesn't know they're there. ;)
LOL!! This was great, JoAnn--I'm definitely passing it along. Thanks :).
Glad you enjoyed it Marilyn!
Really, you threw out the rings of DMC floss? I have a plastic bin full of DMC floss, in one of the closets I am cleaning out. You give me courage. I could send it with all of the fabric, thread, needles etc, that my quilt guild is sending to a mission in Haiti. We were already planning this before the earthquake. One of our members daughters is a missionary there, NW of Port-au-Prince. She was home on leave getting ready to return the day of the quake. Now she is not sure when she will return. The mission has a group of women, learning to sew to earn money. They sew for the orphanage while they are learning.
Love this advice! I have a bottle of vodka in the back of the fridge with my name on it! ...right next to the Kahlua and there is an open container of half and half - looks like white russians for me!
