If you'd like to help the people of Nashville, here are some ways: the publishing community has put together an auction -- Do the Write Thing for Nashville -- with funds going to flood relief. I've donated an autographed Advance Reading Copy of The Homecoming, first in my Shelter Bay series (pub date July 6th), chocolates from Moonstruck Chocolate, Oregon's premiere chocolatier, and autographed copies of all High Risk books -- Freefall, Crossfire, Shattered, and Breakpoint.
Also, for those who'd like to donate directly, Middle Tennessee Red Cross is in desperate need of funds. You can donate from their website or text RED CROSS to 90999 to make a $10 contribution.

What a fine thing you have done JoAnn... I have seen many Singers, Actors and other media personalites donate their time and efforts for this fine city.... Nashville will rise again to the city is was..
Hi, I can honestly say. We from RI know how the people in Nashville feel at this trying time in their life. As we found out You take it one step at a time. I hope everyone will recover quickly and no one will be hurt. I haven't been listing to the news so If someone has been hurt I'm sorry.
Kerry, I was stunned watching the RI floods on TV. I'm not sure how many died during the weekend floods down here. I seem to remember the final count I read was 26, with 12 in TN, but that could be wrong.
Kathleen, Thanks. Yes, Nashville will definitely rise again. Another tragedy was that it came during the week of the oil spill and the Times Square bomber, so the media pretty much ignored it. Fortunately, TN isn't called the Volunteer State for nothing. :)
