Continuing with our saga, here's the next clip from On Lavender Lane, Shelter Bay #3, on sale January 3rd. On her second day in Shelter Bay, Maddy and former Navy SEAL Lucas have run into each other on the beach where he's continuing to prove himself to be one of the most optimistic, determined heroes I've ever written:
"I'm really trying to hate you."
The definitive words, Lucas told himself, were trying to. "You hold a grudge a long time."
He was tempted to rub at the furrow between her brows, then decided not to push his luck. So far she hadn't slugged him with that clam shovel, which was encouraging.
"Yes, it appears I do."

And each week, I fall a little more in love with him myself. Great job!

Gotta love a man that catches the nuances in conversation. They may be all that stands between him and a whack from a clam shovel. ;) Great 6, JoAnn!
Oh I do like these characters
