At first I didn't think I was going to be able to do this week's Operation Write Home sketch #144 challenge, because I woke up at five this morning thinking about business stuff I have to deal with Monday (if New York City is even open!), which had my muse taking off to some undisclosed location. This one was especially tricky because it called for an embellishment. As a rule, my cards tend more toward CAS and I don't do much layering. Although now, writing this, I realized I could've -- duh -- just used a sentiment.
Anyway, finally the brain cloud cleared a bit and I had an idea.
Here's the sketch:
And here's the card:
The sticker, which I backed on DCWV cardstock, is from Penny Black, the papers and the paper bow are from two different BoBunny 6x6 pads, and the metal brad is from my stash.
Since there's still time to make Thanksgiving cards for Cards for Hospitalized Kids, I made this one, using OWH sketch #08.
Everything's all from stash and while I don't use a lot of ribbon, I decided to use the narrow rick rack as a border between the two papers and because it echoes the curves in the turkey's tail.
This one and the next are also for the kids.
The darling monster stamp is from Hero Arts, the paper's from Reminisce, the shiny paper brads are Candi's, and inside it reads, Sending You Monster Hugs!
Finally:
This was easy, since I put it together with a BasicGrey kit. Although I did add goggly eyes after I messed up the snowman's rub-on ones. Mistakes are embellishment opportunities, right? Inside it reads, You're Cool!
Thanks for visiting! I hope readers come back Tuesday for another Sea Glass Winter sneak preview excerpt and Advance Reading Copy giveaway!
xo,
JoAnn

Your cards are all so special, and I'm in awe of how many you're able to complete in a small amount of time! I just love the monster card (and sentiment) with that fun dsp! Great job on each one, and thanks for the link to make cards for hospitalized kids!
So far things are calm here in SE PA, but the storm intensified and slowed down over night, and things will continue to grow worse throughout the day and evening. Thanks for your well wishes - we appreciate your support as we brace for this monster storm :)

All amazing cards, but my fav is the first. The colors are just gorgeous.
I guess you did find your inspiration in the end because you have a great and varied group of cards. The colorful monster card just made me smile as did the googly eyes on the snowman!
I also wanted to thank you for the button punch which arrived today! It was a great bright spot after an unusual week here on the East Coast. :)
