OWH World Card Making Day Bloghop!

What fun to be taking part in World Cardmaking Day for Operation Write Home!  Having made blank-inside cards for troops to send back home since early in the Iraq War,  I was so happy to find this fabulous organization because OWH has many wonderful contacts who help get my cards into people's hands.

This is an organization very close to my heart, because not only did I lose many friends in Vietnam, we have two nephews who did multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and since my books feature military heroes and heroines, I hear from a LOT of family members. I always keep all these soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines, along with their families in my mind while I'm making cards.

This first card was inspired by Bonus Sketch #17.  The stickers are all Penny Black, and the paper and cardstock are from scrap.

This next sketch goes back a long way to #30.  The stamp, which I colored with Copics, is from Stampabilities, I embossed the Stampin' Up Gumball Green with my Cricut, the sentiment's from stock, and the paper's from Echo Park.

The inspiration for the next card is from OWH Sketch #111. The color's a little off because, I think, I took the photo at night under artificial light.  The Let it Snow sentiment is actually a deep navy blue and the stickers themselves are darker, but in a good way.  :) The paper and cardstock are  from scrap.

Again, going back to early days, this is from OWH Sketch #26.  I added the sentiment so it can stay blank inside. The Penny Black stamp, which I colored with Copics, is one I got last year  to send to the three awesome vets who saved two of our three rescued dogs lives. The cardstock is Stampin' Up's Gumball Green.  Unfortunately, I've lost the cover to the paper pad and can't remember where it came from.

Thanks so much for visiting!  One lucky person who comments will win a brand new Martha Stewart Embossed button punch! ( I made the mistake of accidentally ordering two.)  Winner will be announced here on the blog on Monday.  Just click on the badge at the top, or HERE, and have fun hopping!

xo,
JoAnn
