"Beautifully descriptive and gently paced, this heart-warmer captures coastal small town flavor perfectly and nails the high school vibe. A perfect read for a long winter's night." ~ Library Journal
"A fast-paced novel about romantic relationships, parent-child relationships and teacher-student relationships. The narrative voice has a humor and rhythm that is fun to read; the teenagers walk the walk and talk the talk of real teenagers, and the conversations among the adults are witty, kind, and meaningful." ~ Kirkus Reviews
"SEA GLASS WINTER will wrap you in warmth and good feeling. I've read many who say this series will make you want to move to Shelter Bay. I can only say 'ditto.'" ~ Romance Reviews Today
"Fans will enjoy this lovely visit to Shelter Bay. . . It's heartwarming to watch old friends settle happily into life. . . like a hot cup of tea on a cold afternoon." ~ RT Book Reviews
To celebrate the book's release, I'm having a month-long FIND DILLON contest. All you have to do is email me at joann @ joannross dot com and let me know where in the world you've spotted Sea Glass Winter. One lucky person, chosen at random, will receive the following cool gifts from West Coast Sea Glass. The winner will be announced on the news section of my homepage, this blog, Facebook and Twitter on Friday, February 1st.
First up is a set of twenty 5x7 note cards featuring four exquisite photos of sea glass on the covers of five cards each. They come in a keepsake box that will store treasures long after the cards are sent out. Included with the cards is a lovely chiffon bag of sea glass samples!
Also, the winner will receive approximately four dozen pieces of 1"-2" sized glycerine soaps created to look like the beautiful pieces of glass found on our Pacific beaches. These extremely moisturizing, pure vegetable glycerine soaps are lightly scented with Shelter Bay's fresh sea air fragrance.
But that's not all! The best part of this book's contest is this vibrant, historical 7/8" aqua blue vibrant, Pacific coast gem necklace. The glass likely originates from decades old canning jar glass that someone's grandma discarded. It's been tumbling for years along a remote Pacific shore until Mary Beth and Lindsay found it while beachcombing. (Just like Claire in Sea Glass Winter!) Set with a "mermaid's tail," it comes on an 18" sterling silver chain. I love this so much, I asked them to create one for me. Then, of course, once I saw them in person, I ended up ordering duplicates of the other prizes, as well.
I'll be blogging a lot more this year, including continuing Tuesday Teasers of upcoming books and giving away an autographed book to some lucky person who comments on Tuesday Teaser, so that's 52 chances to win during 2013!
To make it extra easier for you, just look in the upper left hand margin and you'll see a box to subscribe by email, which means my posts will land right in your inbox so you won't have to remember to check the website for blog updates.
I'm also continuing the popular Friday photos and most weeks, I'll share cards I've made for Operation Write Home and Cards for Hospitalized Kids, usually on Sundays and Wednesdays, but those days may vary. Plus I enjoy chatting with readers almost daily on
Facebook and Twitter.
Since I've posted so much about the contest, the new sneak preview will be next Tuesday, but the winner of the last one is CBrand, from Colorado! If you'll email your post office mailing address to JoAnn @ JoAnnRoss dot com, we'll send you your choice of either an autographed copy of A Woman's Heart, the first in my Irish trilogy, or one of my backlist Shelter Bay books: The Homecoming, One Summer, On Lavender Lane, or Moonshell Beach!
Thanks to all you wonderful readers who've allowed me to live my dream for so many years. I wish everyone a super fabulous 2013 and happy reading!
