Michele, I grew up in an small Oregon town, too. K.Falls. You were lucky your crush was nice to you. Mine wasn't rude or anything. He just sorta acted like a god. Enjoying the attention, obviously, but above us all, so mostly he'd be silent while we all gushed on. (Or maybe he was just dumb and really didn't have anything to say.) LOL

My sweetie was my true high school crush. He proposed to me at Depoe Bay, which is pretty much where my Shelter Bay books are going to be set. It's a blend of Depoe Bay, Newport, with Cannon Beach's sea stacks thrown in.

I got out a picture of that day to eventually blog and put on my website, and suddenly realized today that it wasn't just my bangs that were like Cute Paul's. I pretty much -- yikes! -- had his entire mop head hair thing going. It looks sorta like a bowling ball. With bangs. LOL

Oh I look back on my first real big crush and want to dig a hole and disappear. I was a freshman in high school and he was a junior (I had many little crushes along the way) I use to walk to class a certain way so I could pass him in the hall way when the word got out and it did that I had a crush on him he was I guess nice about it he would say hi to me and I thought that was great, but he never really noticed me and trust me I did everything I just wanted him to ask me out just once. Never happened and looking back I would say I could of been accused of stalking lol I grew up in a small town in Oregon Scappoose everyone knows everyone facebook and myspace has made it easy to reconnect with people and I have talked with him and he is on my friend list I'm grateful that he was nice to methrough the years he could of been a jerk since he knew I liked him. After I met my husband I knew I found my real crush and he liked me back :)

I wonder if boys get crushes? My sweetie admits to one in the 1st grade (I've seen her picture and she was darling), but has never mentioned any others. Which is probably wise. LOL

I have this feeling my first crush never got past that 8th grade mentality. I was so tempted to scan his picture out of the year book. But anyone which such a decided lack of class just might decide to sue. And wow, he sure wouldn't be worth the nuisance!

I hear you on the first crushes. I look back at some of my first crushes and literally thank God nothing came of those!!

My first two big celebrity crushes were Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid) and Donnie Wahlberg (New Kids on the Block). I guess that gives away my age huh? LOL
